As part of our growth policy, we intend to strengthen our team by hiring a Workplace Safety Technician - Industrial Sector (M/F) - Póvoa de Santa Iria. The Role: Reporting to the HSE Department Manager.
The professional to be hired should:
- Plan and develop activities for the prevention and protection of occupational risks and illnesses;
- Identify hazards and assess risks.
- Conduct monitoring (chemical, physical, and biological agents) and mandatory controls in the field (such as ATEX and verification of work equipment).
- Define and monitor corrective actions in case of deviations from legal and/or regulatory requirements.
- Prepare documentation to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in the areas of Occupational Safety and Health.
- Evaluate the framework of legislation applicable to the Organization (legal compliance assessment).
- Plan and conduct training/awareness sessions for employees.
- Accompany audits, visits, or inspections to the manufacturing areas.
- Plan accident/incident investigations.
- Manage emergency response.
- Define and track Lagging/Leading indicators.
- Collaborate with the Occupational Health team and internal clients of the Organization.
The Profile:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree.
- Occupational Safety Technician course (Level IV or Level VI).
- Experience in a similar role.
- Proof of scientific and technical update, through the completion of at least 30 hours of continuous training in the last 5 years.
- Trainer Certification (CAP).
- Knowledge of the English language.
- Knowledge of Management Systems (OHSAS 18001 or ISO 45001 Safety standard).
- Preferably, knowledge of Quality standards (ISO 9001) and Environmental standards (ISO 14001), or work experience in these areas.
- Good communication skills, autonomy, and results orientation.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
